Dr. Wafula is a seasoned senior leader in university management, finance and administration, research program implementation and public health interventions in Kenya and beyond. In these roles he has led the development of systems for quality education, health systems research and continuous performance improvement.
Passionate about helping individuals and communities unlock potential, Dr. Wafula is implementing strategic initiatives for the realisation of 100% transition of young people from basic education through technical skills acquisition as well as community focused health and development improvement. He has also spearheaded the integration of young people responsive healthcare system on sexual and reproductive health and rights through the development of a Meaningful Youth Participation Program in five Counties in Kenya.
Currently, Dr. Wafula is a Senior Lecturer and Researcher at the Great Lakes University of Kisumu (GLUK) and TICH-CAN and has published a number of papers in peer-reviewed journals on the effect of education on health and poverty and health systems strengthening initiatives.
